Colliers Family Restaurant
If Collier’s Family Restaurant building looks familiar it’s because it used to be Bill Knapps. But be assured this place is authentic homecooking. And don’t be fooled by the stock shot on their website or the crafty kitch decor, this food is for real – chicken is the main star but homemade noodles is threatening to steal the show. Other standouts include Sunday hamloaf and homemade desserts including chocolate cake with caramel icing and homemade pies to round out the meal.
Located right on State Route 41, on your way out turn right and take a drive through what is essentially Springfield’s main street (High Street) and gaze at the glorious mansions that line their historic district including the Wescott House – a masterpiece by Frank Lloyd Wright that has been completely renovated and is open for tours.
